Apprenticeship in Travel Services - Jessie Todd
When starting her Advanced Apprenticeship in Travel Services at Thomson, Jessie, 18, never thought she’d meet the Queen.
Jessie attended a special Christmas reception at the Palace for the outstanding achievers of the year. The guests were all considered to have made a contribution to local or national life over the past year. Jessie was thrilled to be invited to the Palace. 'It was brilliant,' she says. 'The Queen was lovely and asked me all about my work. I felt very proud to be there.'
Her role within the company involves largely selling holidays and extras. Since starting her Advanced Apprenticeship, Jessie has generated nearly £158,000 in sales revenue. Jessie was one of the first Apprentices to complete her NVQ2 and Key Skills and she fast tracked through her NVQ3 due to completing the work early.
Jessie was recently promoted to assistant manager at Thomson’s St Albans branch.
