Edexcel understands how valuable Apprenticeships are in contributing to improving business performance and appreciate the hard work and dedication undertaken by young people in completing their Apprenticeship. It therefore gives Edexcel great pleasure in honouring the achievement of employers who are exceptional at developing the skills of their staff through Apprenticeships and in raising the profile of Apprenticeships.
The Leitch Report, published at the end of last year, sets some ambitious targets for improving provision and attainment in skills and highlighted several challenges for employers. By acknowledging employers’ commitment to developing their workforce through Apprenticeships, Edexcel believes that apprentices become more motivated, giving fellow employees the confidence to take an Apprenticeship. We also hope that the success of these programmes will encourage more employers to offer Apprenticeships.
