Personal Achiever of the Year Award
(19-24)

Danielle Morris

Danielle completed her Apprenticeship in Early Years Care and Education in November 2005. She has achieved her dream of working in the child care industry, despite illness, physical disabilities and the need for her to use a wheelchair for a large amount of the time.

Danielle’s responsibilities include working and interacting with the children, helping them to achieve their goals through learning and also assisting with general care and processes such as eating and drinking.  Another great responsibility of hers is to ensure the children’s safety at all times.

Through her Apprenticeship Danielle has completed an NVQ level 2 in Early Years Care and Education, the certificate in Early Years Practice, Paediatric First Aid certificate, Food Hygiene Certificate and Employment Rights and Responsibilities. All of these qualifications were achieved within the time allocated and have enriched her knowledge and experience critical in order to be successful in the child care industry.

Danielle has had many amazing personal achievements.  These include winning the Princess Diana Award, the National Child of Achievement Award and the Millennium Volunteer Award for Excellence.  Her learning provider, Sheila Cooper Caine describes Danielle as “an excellent role model for others who want to achieve their dream against all the odds of doing so”.

Danielle is a finalist in the national Apprenticeship Awards 2006, Personal Achiever 19-24 category.  The prestigious Awards aim to recognise young people and employers who have succeeded through Apprenticeships.
