Providing Security Services

Security

The security industry is experiencing steady growth. Currently, there are around 500,000 people employed in the security industry – that includes static and patrol guards, uniformed retail security guards, store detectives, CCTV operators, dog handlers and private investigators. Large commercial companies, hospitals and universities also contribute to that number with their own in-house security teams.

On this Apprenticeship, there are several pathways that cover the following sub-sectors: static and patrol guarding, events security, door supervision, retail security, reception duties, and CCTV operation. For this job, you’ll need a calm head to assess different situations and the confidence to act when necessary. At the same time, you’ll learn the importance of keeping accurate records and handling key documents.
