Construction Building

Construction Building craft occupations have a traditional role in supplying a qualified workforce to small and medium companies.

During the Intermediate Level Apprenticeship you will be working on a construction site or in domestic and commercial premises as a painter, renewing the maintenance of many things such as wood products and plumbing, bricklaying, resurfacing masonry structures such as renders, site carpentry and joining tasks.

For example as a Painter you will be preparing background surfaces for painting and applying paint by brush and roller. Where as working as a Craft Mason, you will be setting out and erecting masonry structures, and placing and finishing concrete and render surfaces.

On the Advanced Level Apprenticeship you will be responsible for carrying out complex building work, working in a joiners shop using drawings to produce complex wood products.

For example as a Bricklayer you will be setting out structures and carrying out complex building work to given specifications. However as a a Site Carpenter you will be working on a construction site or in domestic and commercial premises to given specifications carrying out first and second fixing, erecting complex structural carcassing components, such as trussed rafter roofs and traditional cut roofs.
