Music Business
This Apprenticeship is for those who want to work in the Music Industry within the Promotions, Management and Agency related jobs, for example those who work with a range of specialists to plan, book and promote artists or bands.
As an Intermediate Level apprentice you will train as Marketing, Promotions Assistants or Assistant Publicists where you will support the promotional activities and marketing campaigns in the music industry, utilising social media and social networks. You will also provide administrative support to their teams.
On the Advanced Level Apprenticeship, there are several types of roles available where apprentices will train as Artists & Repertoire (A&R), Music Publishing Assistants, Radio Pluggers, Marketing/Promotions Assistants or Assistant Publicists. For example as a Music Publishing Assistant, you will understand the registration process and register musical works for publishing and copyright compliance and contribute to the preparation and management of artist agreements and contracts.
Where as, as a Marketing, Promotions Assistant or Assistant Publicist you will monitor music press coverage, understand the principles for marketing and selling new and back catalogue music releases, market and sell music releases, support the identity, brand and characteristics of record labels and their artists and negotiate with music outlets.
