Last call to find the country's best employers and apprentices
21 March 2011
Outstanding apprentices and their employers are being urged to enter the Apprenticeship Awards, as the deadline for nominations is fast approaching.
The Awards, run by the National Apprenticeship Service, are open to all organisations that employ apprentices, and to apprentices themselves. With the closing date for applications on 25 March 2011, time is running out for apprentices and employers to gain the recognition they deserve – not just for excelling in their chosen field, but also for spreading opportunity and enhancing the nation's sense of drive and aspiration.
Skills Minister John Hayes is backing the awards. “This government is raising the status of Apprenticeships because they are good for business, good for communities and good for young people who want to get ahead. I want to see more recognition for businesses that invest in skills - and the Apprenticeship Awards are a great opportunity to give our best employers and brightest young apprentices the credit they deserve.
Over 1,400 people and organisations in England have already registered for this year’s Awards, but more are being encouraged to put themselves forward to be considered for this coveted accolade.
