Alan helps National Apprenticeship Service to practice what they preach

19 May 2010

A Tyneside teenager has secured a job as the very first apprentice with the organisation responsible for the overall delivery and funding of Apprenticeships in the region.

Eighteen year old Alan Mulholland, from Eighton Banks in Gateshead, has taken up a post as an office administrator with the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) in the North East.

Despite only being in his job for a couple of months, Alan has already met Iain Wright MP, Apprenticeships Minister, and has taken part in a series of National Apprenticeship Week activities out in the local community.

Alan’s NAS Apprenticeship was advertised on Apprenticeship vacancies, an online system which matches employers with potential recruits. It was one of more than 300 Apprenticeship vacancies advertised by North East employers on the Apprenticeship vacancies system in the last six months alone.
