Alexis says “We were established in 1999 and we have a total of nine employees. Two of those employees currently attend apprenticeship programs, with a further two on advanced apprenticeships.” The staff are now playing with the children inside the nursery. “The staff who join us through the apprenticeship program gain so much more then going onto full time education, to gain the same qualification, and it gives them so much more confidence. The apprenticeship program does promote loyalty from young people. And I think if you can show them the support and commitment they will show it back.”
Emma is sitting outside in the playground and playing with the children there.
Emma says “When I first started here I did really think is this what I wanted to do. I had a lot of support from Kingscliffe but once I got into the apprenticeship and I started going to college and enjoying the work, I thought yes this is what I want to do.”
Alexis says “There is a lot of in house training that goes on.” The apprentices are playing with the children inside. “We are all a big part of each apprenticeships training program. And I’d like to think we all give a little bit of ourselves to help them. I get real thrills seeing people develop and reach their full potential. And if I can see that here within the business it makes it all worthwhile. I think every company should take the opportunity to find out what success they could have by taking on an apprentice.”
