Steve says “Claire joined us as a packing operative; we saw something in her that was worth pursuing.”

Claire says “When I first came to Dales I was very shy, I didn’t have much confidence, but through my apprenticeship I gained confidence and the skills I needed to help me progress.”

Steve says “Claire has a way with communication that seems to work with everybody. She doesn’t speak down to anybody, but she can relate to everybody.”

Claire says “I was asked by Steve to run the night shift, so I went on and upped the production, and we reduced the absentees for 11% to 3%, and kept it at a steady flow.”

Steve says “We have seen our output grow but double digit percentages over the last two to three years.” A team of people, including Claire, are hand packing products “That’s obviously a team effort but she is one of the strong leaders within that team.”
Claire says “I like to think that if I go into a department I will try my hardest and help the company be cost efficient and effective, and I achieve that through the apprenticeship, because it taught me the skills that I needed to do that.”
Claire is checking production, talking to colleagues, and typing
Steve says “She never seizes to amaze me, whatever I throw at her, the more she delivers, and the challenge just gets stronger for her.”
Claire says “I’m doing an apprenticeship in management now, and I defiantly feel like I want to do more.”
Steve says “We talk about a succession plan and these are the stars of the future. And I have no doubt that she will be part of a senior management team at some point.”
Claire hands a dispatch note to a colleague, who places it on the box of goods.
