Advanced Apprentice - Wayne Manton

Wayne Manton

Apprenticeships allow you to be completely in the driving seat of your own career and do exactly what you want to do. You are in control of your own future.

Wayne Manton started studying Engineering at University but the desire to have a combination of theory and practical motivated him to do an Advanced Apprenticeship instead and he’s not looked back since.

“My university course was good in terms of understanding the theory behind Engineering, but I really wanted to get stuck into the practical side. I found out about the Rolls-Royce Apprenticeship and decided to go for it. It’s been fantastic and in my time here I’ve been Bristol Apprentice Association Chairman. I was the first apprentice to hold that position in fifteen years as it is traditionally given to a graduate trainee.”

Since doing his Apprenticeship Wayne has continued to further his education and is currently studying a Mechanical Engineering degree with aspirations of becoming chartered.

“Apprenticeships allow you to be completely in the driving seat of your own career and do exactly what you want to do. You are in control of your own future.”
