Having always had a passion for hair design, Bolton’s Jignesh Madhavji completed an Apprenticeship in both Hairdressing and Barbering to help him realise his dream. His Apprenticeship has helped him to demonstrate a high level of proficiency for hairdressing and has given him the opportunity to showcase his talent.
He says: “With the experience I’ve been building through both my Apprenticeships, I’ve been involved with many hairdressing competitions and events around the country, most notably BBC3’s Celebrity Scissorhands as a Guest Tramline expert.
Jignesh’s commitment to excellence and his profession have had three main impacts: it has given him confidence; it has made him a role model for other students; and, it has had a positive impact on his employer’s business.
He says: “I tried a “traditional” education path but conventional university studies didn't suit or excite me. Doing an Apprenticeship in hairdressing has been hard work but it has helped me do something that genuinely interests me.”
