NAS events and conferences policy

What types of events would we participate in?

  • Primarily Employer-facing: these are a priority as we are a sales-driven organisation, who need to ensure that there are enough Apprenticeship places to satisfy demand.
  • However we will also maintain a presence at some large scale and national events targeting apprentices and their influencers (e.g careers advisors and parents).
  • We only participate in events that do not require us to pay for stand space or speaking opportunities.

What types of events would we decline?

  • We would decline events that require us to pay for stand space and/or speaking opportunities.
  • We would also decline events that are weighted heavily towards HE or funding, as these can be covered more effectively by HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England), YPLA (Young People’s Learning Agency) or Skills Funding Agency.

Reasons why NAS should feature at Apprenticeship Employer-focused Events:

  • Apprenticeships have been put at the top of the Coalition Government’s skills agenda – they are committed to supporting the growth of Apprenticeships. As such our presence at events is vital and would add value to the event from the organisers and delegates point of view.
  • If we are not able to secure free stand/exhibition space, we can contribute a speaker to the event. A speaker from Apprenticeships would be beneficial for the organisers as well as the delegates because of the value it would add.
